Volunteer Code Of Conduct

FTLL Volunteer-

FTLL  is a non-profit organization powered entirely by dedicated volunteers. Serving over 300 children in the community, our league thrives on teamwork and passion. Join this incredible group of people and help create an unforgettable baseball experience!

To volunteer, please register through our portal. FTLL requires all managers, coaches, board members, and anyone providing regular service to the league—including volunteers and hired workers with ongoing access to players or teams—to meet the following requirements. The criteria outlined below must be completed annually by all volunteers before they can begin their service.

  1. Background Check: This will be initiated by registering as a volunteer through the portal.
  2. Little League Abuse Awareness Training Course (email certification to [email protected]).
  3. Concussion in Sports (email certification to [email protected]).
All FTLL managers and coaches are expected to adhere to the Volunteer Code of Conduct.

Volunteer Code of Conduct:
Volunteers play a critical role in shaping the Little League experience and are expected to serve as positive role models for all players.

By serving as a volunteer for FTLL, I agree to:

  1. Place the emotional and physical well-being of players ahead of any personal desire to win.

  2. Teach the fundamentals of the game and the values of teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship.

  3. Provide a safe playing environment and follow all Little League safety rules and guidelines.

  4. Treat all players fairly and with respect, regardless of skill level or background.

  5. Use positive coaching methods and never use physical punishment, verbal abuse, or humiliation.

  6. Respect umpires and officials and refrain from arguing or questioning their decisions during games.

  7. Maintain self-control and model appropriate behavior at all times.

  8. Communicate respectfully and constructively with players, parents, officials, and league administrators.

  9. Never use or permit alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, or illegal substances at any league event.

  10. Comply with all Little League International and FTLL rules, policies, and procedures.

  11. Complete all required background checks and training programs.

  12. When a player’s behavior becomes disruptive, unsafe, or interferes with team activities and the player is unable to regain composure, I understand that I may temporarily remove the player from participation and may engage the player’s parent or guardian to assist with removal. This action is intended to support the player’s well-being and maintain a positive team environment and is not a form of punishment. The decision regarding return to participation will be at the discretion of the coaching staff and/or league officials.

Any coach, volunteer, or league official who is under investigation for, charged with, or has pending legal charges involving conduct against a minor is prohibited from participating in any MJWSLL activities, including practices, games, or league events, until the matter is fully resolved. This action is taken in accordance with Little League International policies and is intended solely to protect the safety of all participants.

Disciplinary Action:
Violation of this Code may result in disciplinary action, including warning, suspension, or removal from coaching duties, as determined by the FTLL Board of Directors.

Player Code of Conduct

Player Code of Conduct:
FTLL exists to help players learn the game of baseball while developing character, confidence, and respect for others.

By participating in FTLL, I agree to:

  1. Play for fun, learn the game, and always give my best effort.

  2. Learn and follow the rules of the game and the policies of the league.

  3. Show respect to teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, and spectators.

  4. Encourage my teammates and never bully, tease, or ridicule others.

  5. Play fairly and demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times.

  6. Accept officials’ decisions without arguing or showing anger.

  7. Keep myself and others safe by following all safety rules and instructions.

  8. Use appropriate language and behavior at all games, practices, and league events.

  9. Treat everyone with respect regardless of race, color, religion, gender, or ability.

  10. Remember that being a good teammate and having fun are more important than winning.

  11. Respect league property, facilities, and equipment.

  12. If my behavior becomes disruptive, unsafe, or interferes with team activities and I am unable to regain composure, I understand that I may be temporarily removed from participation to allow time to calm down. This is meant to help me return ready to participate safely and positively and is not a punishment. My return to play will be determined by the coach and/or league officials.

Any player who is currently under investigation for, charged with, or has pending legal charges involving conduct against a minor may be deemed ineligible to participate in FTLL activities until such matters are resolved. The FTLL Board of Directors reserves the right to restrict or suspend participation to ensure the safety and well-being of all players and participants.

Disciplinary Action:
Physical or verbal abuse, intimidation, bullying, or repeated unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Players who violate this Code may be removed from the activity and may face disciplinary action, including suspension from practices or games. Repeated violations may result in removal from the league for the remainder of the season.

Parent/Guardian Code of Conduct

Parent / Guardian Code of Conduct:
Parents and guardians are essential partners in creating a positive Little League experience. Your behavior sets the example for all players.

By allowing my child to participate in FTLL, I agree to:

  1. Encourage my child to play for fun, learn, and enjoy the game.

  2. Support all players, coaches, officials, and volunteers with positive words and actions.

  3. Refrain from yelling at, criticizing, or coaching my child or other players from the stands.

  4. Never engage in unsportsmanlike conduct, including booing, taunting, or using profane language or gestures.

  5. Respect the authority and decisions of umpires and coaches.

  6. Address concerns with coaches or league officials at an appropriate time and place, never during games or practices.

  7. Help my child understand that effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship matter more than winning.

  8. Ensure my child arrives on time, prepared, and with proper equipment.

  9. Never use or permit alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, or illegal substances at any league event.

  10. Respect league facilities, property, and equipment.

  11. Comply with all Little League International and FTLL rules and policies.

  12. When my child’s behavior becomes disruptive, unsafe, or interferes with team activities and my child is unable to regain composure, I understand that the volunteer coach may engage me and request my assistance in temporarily removing my child from participation. I agree to cooperate promptly and respectfully. This temporary removal is intended to support my child’s well-being and maintain a positive team environment and is not a form of punishment. My child’s return to participation will be at the discretion of the volunteer coaching staff and/or league officials.

Any parent or guardian who is under investigation for, charged with, or has pending legal charges involving conduct against a minor may be restricted from attending or participating in MJWSLL activities, including practices and games, until the matter is resolved. The FTLL Board of Directors reserves the right to impose such restrictions to maintain a safe environment for all players.

Disciplinary Action:
Parents/guardians who fail to adhere to this Code may be subject to disciplinary action, including removal from the field or facility, suspension from attending games or practices, or additional action as determined by the MJWSLL Board of Directors.
